Ever since Jealous became his first hit song in the year 2018, Adedamola Adefolahan popularly known as Fireboy DML has remained a significant recording artist both Locally and Internationally. Born and brought up in Abeokuta, Ogun State Situated in the southwest geo-political zone of Nigeria, he attended top private schools in the state for his elementary and primary education before he proceeded to the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University (O.A.U) where he bagged a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Literary Studies, after which he devoted his full attention to his music career and luck smiled at him when he became a notable and strong member of the YBNL family, founded by Music Huncho Olamide Adedeji Known Professionally as Olamide.

As of the time of writing this article, he has 3 (three) studio albums in which he hasn’t proved to be less, but exuded quintessence skills in his aesthetics.

Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps, his first studio album got released in November 2019 consisting of 13 (thirteen) songs and he went solo all through. So much confidence for a new artist, Isn’t it? Through this album, Fireboy DML portrayed his music perusing which amounted to exquisite intelligence as a Philander, cynosure of the party, and maybe narcissism. Songs like; Need You, Like I do, Jealous, What if I say, Vibration, Feel, and Energy explain love in a way it has never been learned.

Still leaves our hearts thumping so hard and falling in love over and over again (amidst appreciating his beautiful rhyme scheme which is always ‘a, b’ hardly would a ‘c’ surface when it’s Fireboy doing the scheme). Can it be said that Fireboy DML is a love doctor or what? With ‘King’ he pointed out that obsession with a person shouldn’t be an avenue that allows mistreatment and misconception of all kinds, the former SHOULD stick to his principles diligently owing to the fact that he is a complete package therefore the latter SHOULD treat him as a king.

Devoid of hyperbole, Fireboy DML captured our hearts with his scintillating lyrics and voice with LTG and this fuelled our love for him. Middle of 2020, he had another Studio album titled Apollo which comprises 17 (seventeen) songs with three features from D-smoke, Wande Coal, and Olamide his Label Boss. Spell, New York City Girl, God only knows, Shadé, Tatoo, Eli shows he believes in cupid arrow hitting anyone at any time.

Furthermore, he comprehended his life before and after fame with; Champion, Airplane Mode, and Lifestyle. Analyzing Friday Feeling and Favourite song it is deduced that he is still the same life of the party he was in 2019.

Peru a hit single off his third album dropped mid 2021 which made him famous in Peru and beyond as it earned him international recognition and collaborations with British Singer and Song-writer Ed-Sheeran, 21 Savage, and Blxst recently after he did a prefix with BNXN also called Buju.

In between getting international collaborations, he performed Scatter live on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon thereby projecting afro-pop to an international standard. Aren’t we indebted to Olamide for discovering such a rare gem?

Achieving great feats in splits of a second (including carting away with more than 4 awards from The Headies Award in the year 2021 which seems almost unattainable) increased his fan base to a fault and every fan diligently took the waiting pill for his third album which he hinted in ‘Peru’. For a while, I also considered starting a challenge on Twitter with the hashtag #dropthealbum. Crazy indeed!

In the early days of August 2022, the most anticipated album titled Playboy was released. An album that consists of 14 songs featuring Chrisbrown with Shenseea in Diana, Ed-Sheeran in Peru, Asake in Bandana, Rema in compromise, and Euro in Adore. Surprisingly, he hasn’t lost his sense of good music because he didn’t cease being a Mr. Romantic, Lover Boy, Narcissist, and vibe of the party.

Adedamola Adefolahan inarguably has no bad song and we are all rooting for him to bring home awards from The Grammys soonest than soon.
